Latin-style Spice Rub

This Latin-style Spice Rub is a good combination of sweet and heat. You can adjust the heat by using mild or medium chili powder.

  • 1/4 cup cumin
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seeds crushed
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoons black pepper fresh ground
  • Combine all the ingredients and grind to a powder in a spice mill, coffee grinder, or with a mortar and pestle. Store in a tightly seal jar in a cool, dark place. It will keep for about 6 weeks.
